Grüner Star, grauer Star

German: grüner Star, grauer Star

 This blew my mind.  Grüner Star is glaucoma, grauer Star is cataracts.  Why?  I have no idea!  Is glaucoma green?  According to this history of ophthalmology ... maybe.
